Acclaimed, Awarded cuban writers need our help to publish online & Be Compensated!
Cuba's literary talent is extraordinary: like Matanza's YANIRA MARIMÓN, (left) a multi-award-winning poet and author of numerous books published in Cuba. Or Havana author, professor and translator SUSANA HAUG (right in center photo with American travelwriter Barbara Wysocki). Or Cienfuego poet and novelist CLARA LECUONA.
Each of these dedicated writers, and dozens more I've met – have had books vetted and published by one or more of Cuba's state-run publishing houses, strapped for paper and ink therefore printing only limited runs, sold at mimimum price, and paying next-to-nothing. To be distributed beyond the island, they need their manuscripts published online and for sale at established marketplaces, like Amazon, Kobo, etc., in print-on-demand and eBook formats. To publish their works in Spanish costs approximately $500 USD. To have the manuscript professionally translated to English costs an additional $2,000-$5,000 depending on length and complexity. The commitment (and written agreement) of CubanoBooks to these authors is to return 50% in royalties from sales after recouping these minimal production costs.
